OUR HERITAGE
Since our founding in 1896, Kambala has nurtured a rich heritage that we are immensely proud of. As Kambala Old Girls, we share a profound connection to our school and its legacy, which inspires us to honour our past while forging a vibrant future. Through meaningful heritage projects, we actively seek ways to sustain this connection, ensuring that the stories, traditions, and achievements of our community continue to thrive. Join us in celebrating the remarkable journey of Kambala and the enduring spirit of the Old Girls who have shaped our history.

Tivoli Heritage
Walk Pavers
We invite you to commemorate your personal journey and contribution to Kambala by becoming a part of the Tivoli Heritage Walk. By donating a brick engraved with your daughter’s name and the years she attended Kambala, you can create a lasting legacy at the school.

The Kambala Old Girls' Heritage Walk is a collaborative initiative between the School and the Kambala Old Girls' Association (KOG). All proceeds from this initiative will be directed to Kambala’s Building Fund, supporting future enhancements to the school's facilities. Each engraved brick is available for a $500 donation, which is fully tax-deductible.

Laurie White
Archives Room
The Kambala Archives were established in 1987 during the school's centenary year, with significant support from the Kambala Old Girls' Union. The collection features historical photographs, personal records, publications, and unique items like a 232-page scrapbook from Former Headmistress Fifi Hawthorne. Originally organized on index cards, the archives were digitized in 2002. In 2018, the Archives room was named in honour of Laurie (Nyman) White '48, a vital member of the Kambala community for over 40 years. The late Diana (Winston) Hampshire '55 noted Laurie’s commitment to preserving the past but equally realising the importance of building the future.

With KOGU's assistance, the school digitised the Fifi Hawthorne Scrapbook, school magazines from 1963-2014, and The Kambala Quarterly in 2020. If you would like to make a donation to the Archive or to contact Kambala's Archivist please email us.
The Infants Home Ashfield
The Kambala Old Girls (KOG) community has proudly supported The Infants' Home in Ashfield for over 125 years. This enduring partnership has included regular donations as well as organised trips and volunteering opportunities for both KOGs and current Kambala students.
KOG and Kambala are honoured to be part of the history of this remarkable organisation, which provides a calming and supportive community for families with young children often facing significant challenges. We are grateful for the essential work The Infants’ Home does in nurturing and empowering those in need. If you would like to learn more about our relationship with The Infants' Home or explore opportunities to volunteer, please contact us.

Inspirational Old Girls
As part of our 120-year anniversary celebrations in 2016, the Kambala Old Girls' Union, in collaboration with the School, created a powerful series of portraits showcasing Inspirational Kambala Old Girls. These portraits honour the achievements and contributions of Old Girls across various fields, including professions, community service, the arts, sports, and family life. They celebrate women's leadership, vision, creativity, innovation, and initiative.

Displayed in Alexander Hall, this series serves as a lasting source of inspiration for students while recognizing the remarkable women who have shaped diverse paths. New portraits are added every two years to continue this legacy. Click the link below to explore the profiles of our Inspirational Old Girls or submit a nomination.
